Skype to Acquire Qik with Mobile Streaming Video

An estimated 13.2 million people worldwide will make video calls this year, up 400% from last year. By 2015, it is estimated that 155.1 million calls will use streaming videos. Skype is a leader in low-cost phone calls. Calls to other people who have Skype are usually free. Now Skype is offering video calling for as low as $8.99 per month, with up to 10 people on the same call. Skype accounts for 25% of international calling traffic, up from 13% in 2009. GM Reports Biggest Quarterly Profit in Six Years

Filed under: Earnings Reports , General Motors (GM) , Initial Public Offerings Good News! General Motors reported a quarterly profit of $1.3 billion , up from $865 million in Q1. GM’s profit report is the best since 2004. Revenue came in at $33.2 billion, up from $31.5 billion in Q1. Since GM is still a private company, It did not release forecasts for the next quarter. The good news continues. GM reported a 47% surge in global production. North American factories are operating at 93% of capacity. GM Plans IPO for Mid August

However before this happens, GM wants to establish a $5 billion line of credit with major banks. So far Bank of America ( BAC ), JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ), Citigroup ( C ) and Morgan Stanley ( MS ) have agreed to a paltry $500 million. GM’s offer will be in the range of $15 to $20 billion. Royal Gold (NASDAQ:RGLD) Prices Offering at $48.50 a Share

In hopes of raising approximately $240.3 million, after expenses, Royal Gold (NASDAQ:RGLD) prices its public offering at $48.50 a share. The company is offering 5.2 million common shares at that price. The price is a discount of 5 percent off the Tuesday close of the company, which was $51.28. The share price was trading in New York at $48.74, a decline of $2.54, or 4.95%, as of 1:09 PM EDT.
