Gold, oil & 44 Bars per Minute

Gold, oil & 44 Bars per Minute

“Girls love to spin.” — Wayne, Dance Instructor, Howard County Parks and Rec. I’m taking dance classes at the local Parks & Rec. with a stunning brunette, which is why I’m shuffling my feet around on Sunday nights at eight. The crowd is mixed; twenty-something hipster couples and old guys who have difficulty with their gig lines. The instructor is a cross between Wayne Newton and Telly Savalas: a black silk shirt, shaved head, and a nose like an organic potato. He sucks his microphone like a lollipop and spits out a steady stream of advice: “One, two, hook the toe, slide back, twirl…” Chick magnet The chicks love him, of course. And heck, I was even having a good time— right up until Wayne Savalas swished over during the break. My H1 was in the parking lot. It’s shiny, yellow, and chews diesel like a Mongolian wrestler at a yak roast. Wayne obviously saw me pull up and feels he should enlighten me about his new Chevy Volt getting 60 miles per gallon… And why would I drive something that sucks up so much gas and destroys the environment? I told him that I was fully invested in oil explorers. And with the trouble in the Middle East launching my shares, I could drive a Semi for life… Brent Crude ETF (BNO) Yes, he said, but is this more of a trade on the Arab revolutions, or does it have more to do with the destruction of the dollar? Wayne pointed out that the dollar/euro has hit a four-month low and seems to be heading lower. Down she goes What is most concerning is that during this particular period of global uncertainty, the

Things are Looking More Depressed For the Mighty Dollar

Indeed, things are looking more depressed for the greenback. Now, what led me to say such pessimistic statement? Well, technically speaking, the US dollar index (USDX) which is a measure of the greenback’s valuation against a basket of other currencies like the arch nemesis, the euro, has just broken down from a massive cone head Related posts: A Look on the Mighty Dollar – June 15, 2010 Here’s a look on the daily time frame of the… EURO To Rise By A Whopping 1,250 Pips Against the US Dollar? 2 Ways to Profit from a Bear Market

2 Ways to Profit from a Bear Market

In 1994 when I was starting out in stocks, I asked an old, grizzled— yet highly successful — commodities trader for his secret to surviving a bear market. “Son,” he replied in a cigarette-hoarsed voice, “it’s quite simple. My first course of action… a bear market is like dealing with a crazy wife. Don’t waste your time trying to rationalize with her, because it’ll never work. A crazy wife is a crazy wife. A bear market is a bear market. Accept it for what it is… and run.” Advertisement I’ve uncovered a photograph that could hand you $277,000 by this time next year… I don’t blame you if this sounds far-fetched… In fact, if I hadn’t met the man who traveled 1,400 miles to track me down— just to hand me a photo— I wouldn’t have believed it, either. But once you take a peek at the snapshot, as well as the three reasons it could make you rich, I have no doubt you’ll change your mind. He continued… “Rule #2 — and this is very important, so listen closely — hide your cash.” I began to laugh. “Your first survival response will be to throw money at her… hoping that the new pumps she buys off of QVC will make her happy. But nothing is further from the truth. The euphoria she gets from getting your money is like a sucker’s rally in a bear market. It doesn’t last very long.” Finally, he left me with this… “When the bear market ends… just like your marriage, you’ll know.” What’s next for the market? Unfortunately, I think this dance macabre market will continue until the end of the year. There are two events coming in the second half of 2010 that could prolong the bear market: A new wave of Option ARMs to rest starting in 3Q10 Bush tax cuts set to expire on December 31, 2010, and democrats have no intention of extending the tax cuts Check out the graph below. As you can see, Option ARM resets start to become an issue during the third quarter of this year, and really shoot up in 2011. As Wealth Daily ’s resident housing and mortgage expert Steve Christ has pointed out numerous times in these very pages, most Option ARMs are negative equity. The prevailing interest rate isn’t likely be a problem, since mortgage interest rates are lower now than they were five years ago… The problem…

Kids to boycott prom if they can’t ‘freak’

BRIGHTON, Mich., March 25 (UPI) — High school students in Brighton, Mich., say they'll boycott a prom because they've been asked to sign contracts against “freaking,” a style of dancing. “We're not trying to have sex on the dance floor. We're just trying to have a good time,” senior Josh Partridge said. Various Detroit-area schools have tried to deal with freaking, in which dancers mimic a sex act as they rub against each other, the Detroit News said Thursday. Original Article: Forum: News/Activism

BRIGHTON, Mich. — Administrators at Brighton High School said they’re trying to stop a style of dancing they consider obscene on school grounds and recently canceled a popular winter event to make their point. Officials were concerned students would engage in “freaking” or sexually suggestive movements on the dance floor. The school required anyone interested in attending the Feb. 6 Winterfest dance to sign a contract beforehand, Detroit television station WDIV reported. Hemingway and Orwell fought in the Spanish Civil War, but Jonathan Kay couldn’t handle an afternoon in the rain

Dallas Hansen Infowars.com Saturday, February 13th, 2010 At the risk of sounding immodest, Jonathan Kay is writing his Harper Collins book because of me. He tried taking on 9/11 Truthers back in ‘08 and I eviscerated him in an email. Well he showed up for some “field research” back in September and he didn’t seem interested in talking to anyone or seeing anything at all. He seemed more concerned with checking Facebook on his Blackberry and taking phone calls from his wife. Point is, the guy’s a douche and I called him out on it. I wrote this (see below) to him after he Facebook messaged me asking about my impressions of the WeAreChange conference in 9/11/09. Feel free to use it if you like. And I would be happy to reappear on Alex’s show to talk about this guy and his book. -Dallas Hansen * * * Hemingway and Orwell fought in the Spanish Civil War, but Jonathan Kay couldn’t handle an afternoon in the rain. He’s writing a book titled “Among The Truthers: Alternate Theories of 9/11, And The People Who Believe Them,” but couldn’t sit through their speeches. Didn’t really do any interviews. Came to Manhattan for the eighth anniversary and didn’t talk to Luke Rudkowski, founder of WeAreChange, a 23 year-old from Brooklyn who more than anyone else in the world is famous solely as a 9/11 Truther. Didn’t talk to Nick Carangi, the 25 year-old Temple University sociology grad student who founded Philly 9/11 Truth and received an infamous visit from the Secret Service. Didn’t hear from Craig Fitzgerald, a 14° Scottish Rite Mason. Ditto for WeAreChange co-founder Tom Foti, whose moving speech at One Police Plaza implored the NYPD to hear out the brother or nephew or friend who approaches with 9/11 evidence. Jonathan Kay never made it to International News Net studios at 56 Walker to find out why they were working with the Truthers, so he didn’t see the speeches and workshops, or the music. Didn’t see the surreal spectacle of video clips of WeAreChange’s best confrontations mixed to dark techno with samples like Luke telling David Rockefeller “You will never have a New World Order,” or take note of the unlikely persons on the dance floor. Didn’t even make it through Richard Gage’s talk, where he announced he’ll be doing

Dance contests, zoos, art galleries: Pockets of normalcy endure in Kabul despite the war

Filed in Gold Bullion prices, Gold Demand by on October 31, 2009 0 Comments

Hope and despair live side by side in Kabul KABUL — Kabul remains on edge, with suicide bombings shattering any peace and the growing strength of the Taliban-led insurgency on everyone’s mind. Yet men in 1970s style white suits and bright shirts accompanied by burqa-clad wives still take leisurely strolls in the quieter parts of the city.
