Police use pepper spray to break up Country Club Plaza crowds

The Country Club Plaza area was awash with pepper spray Saturday night as police struggled to disperse a rowdy gathering of hundreds of young people. At least one person was reported with a serious head injury about 11:20 p.m. in the parking lot outside Winstead’s restaurant. It wasn’t immediately clear how the person was injured. The victim was taken to nearby St. Luke’s Hospital. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Officials say Jacksonville police officers accidentally shot a toddler while trying to shoot a robbery suspect.The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reports that a masked man carrying a .357 revolver ran out of a Wachovia bank Friday afternoon and forced his way into a car parked in a Wendy's parking lot. Police ID robbery suspect shot, killed by Phoenix homeowner(AZ)

PHOENIX — Police have identified a man who died after he was shot while trying to rob a Phoenix homeowner Wednesday afternoon. Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said 26-year-old Rudolph Gomes was seen breaking into a coin operated car wash machine near Tatum Boulevard and Union Hills Drive around 12:30 p.m. A witness apparently followed Gomes and called police. At one point, Gomes reportedly struck a stop sign, damaging his vehicle.
